Welcome to my 2009 collection.  Discovering precious metal clay caused me to change direction after many years as a potter and visual artist. I now create one-of-a-kind wearable art in fine silver with the occasional bling.  The hand-forming of the silver clay uses many of my old potting techniques.  Pieces are fired in a kiln before the different methods of hand finishing are applied.  The end product is tactile, curious, wearable fine silver.   I'm very excited to be working with this medium now. Other pieces use vintage buttons, interesting beads and crystals, sterling silver or copper.  Some of the pieces (as with the visual art of old) are just for fun. "It's nice to use some of the old silversmithing training from art college days, I've spent years of working 'big' - the time now feels right to be working on art that can travel easily, stand the test of time, and give pleasure to many." As with some of our pottery, I have chosen, on occasions, to leave some visually natural edges - these are still smooth to the touch but give an organic feel too.  Some pieces below are experimental - all part of my development - and the price therefore purely reflects the cost of material.  In the main, my prices are based on time and materials - I come by my inspiration freely and am happy to pass it on.  Pieces are priced without chains unless specified.  Sterling silver chains or leather knotted necklaces are available.
